Do it for Love
I was talking to a friend of mine recently about what's really important in life, and it came up that it wasn't important whether you were rich or famous, or even had what most people consider "success" in life (whether it be material or social). It came up that what's really important is that whatever we do during the day, even the smallest of tasks, if done with love changes the way we experience life in ways we can't even realize sometimes. We don't even have to be "educated" or "well-read". If we remember to be grateful for everything we have in our life - see it as a gift, or- an opportunity - ie start with our immediate surroundings - the people (online or off) in our lives who bring variety, enrichment, creativity, or the guy or gal at the grocery store who had a particularly warm smile when you had a hard day, or your pet who's always ready to love you - faults and all. We've all heard this before, but how many of us really put (and keep) our attention on it? I'm writing this because we can all be reminders for each other of what's important in life, so the next time you see something to appreciate in someone else (or yourself) do it! Say something! (even silent appreciation is better than none, if you're shy, or it somehow doesn't feel right to speak) Say "you sure do wash those pots and pans with care", or whatever you can find to appreciate! This is an aspect of love that we all can act upon in everything we do. Appreciate that I have hands to wash dishes with, maybe someone else doesn't!
